Meet Sam, the definition of a loyal best friend—faithful, sweet, and always ready to be by your side. He’s the ultimate cuddle bug, the kind of dog who makes you feel like the most important person in the world just by resting his head on your lap. Born around June 2015, Sam gets along great with other dogs, both male and female, and even respects the mysterious ways of cats (a rare talent, indeed). Sam is a gentleman who understands boundaries, whether that’s giving his dog friends space or letting his humans know when he’s not in the mood for certain interactions. Speaking of personal space—Sam has a few non-negotiables. He has specific no-go zones when it comes to being touched, and he doesn’t appreciate feeling cornered. When it comes to grooming, he prefers the VIP treatment (which means sedation). Because of this, he’s best suited for an adult-only home with someone who understands and respects his needs. But don’t let his boundaries deter you—Sam is an absolute sweetheart with a ton of love to give. He absolutely adores his daily walks and strolls beautifully on a leash, taking in the sights and smells like a true explorer. He’s also crate-trained and has a deep appreciation for a cozy dog bed—because hey, comfort is key! He’s still working on remembering that inside isn’t the place for marking, so a little patience (and perhaps a belly band) will go a long way. For the right person—someone who appreciates a loyal, loving dog with a touch of independent spirit—Sam is ready to be the best companion you could ever ask for. If you’re looking for a big-hearted fellow with a little extra personality, Sam just might be your perfect match!
