If your checklist includes finding a furry adventure buddy with a love for people and all things outdoorsy, Howie is your guy. Born around June 2017, Howie’s ideal match would be an active owner who loves exploring as much as he does. While he’s perfectly content to spend the day lounging on the back porch or catching up on his beauty sleep, Howie also has bursts of playful energy that will remind you just how fun life can be! Walks are his favorite, and while he may get a bit excited at the sight of other dogs, a confident owner with a firm grip will make those outings a breeze. Handsome, intelligent, and as sweet as they come, Howie is a social guy who loves making new friends. Once you’ve earned his trust, he’s the most loyal companion you could hope for. While he’s not the type to crawl into your lap for a cuddle, he’ll happily lay by your feet while you work, offering quiet support and the occasional side-eye if you’re not sharing snacks. Howie’s ideal family would be an experienced and active one, without cats, small dogs, or young children—teenagers are more his speed! He’d thrive with a large lady dog companion, or as the solo star of the show with an owner who knows their way around big, lovable pups. This boy is bursting with love and loyalty, just waiting for the right person to share it with—preferably someone with treats and hiking boots.
